Dave Navarro for peta2
Dave Navarro posed
for peta2's "Ink,
Not Mink" campaign to help spread the word about the horrors of the
fur industry. The Jane's
Addiction guitarist and Dark
Matter radio show host stripped down to his tats to urge his fans to "be comfortable
in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs." And this long-time Navarro fan couldn't be happier!
A rock star in every sense of the word, Navarro has talent and
intensity, which has made him one of the most sought-after guitarists in the music
world. Since making a name for himself with Jane's Addiction, Navarro has
worked with everyone from Nine
Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and Guns N' Roses, to
the Chili Peppers, Billy
Corgan, and Christina Aguilera. And
as for his charisma and brooding good looks, let's just say that they haven't hurt
his career either, and we're glad that he's using them to speak up for animals.
A reformed fur-wearer, Navarro has sworn off fur since learning
where it comes from, "Several years ago I saw video footage of animals
being skinned alive and screaming, and it honestly is the most horrific,
inhumane thing I've ever seen."
Millions of rabbits, chinchillas, foxes, minks, dogs, cats, and
other animals are killed every year so that they can be made into clothing and accessories.
"There's an industry of people that support and promote this for vanity,
for a dollar. It's what's wrong with the human race," Navarro told us. See
what else he had to say in his interview with peta2.
Join Dave Navarro and speak
up for animals killed in the name of fashion by pledging to be fur-free today!
