Katy Perry: Cruel to Elephants

Katy Perry's new jungle–themed "Roar" music video features several wild animals, including an elephant who was caught in Africa at the age of 2 and who has spent 10 of the last 20 years living alone!

Animals used for entertainment often live chained or isolated in small, filthy cages and are deprived of physical and mental stimulation. Behind the scenes, trainers force them to perform under the constant threat of physical punishment.

PETA has contacted Katy twice about the cruelty inherent in using captive elephants for entertainment, but Katy Perry continues to exploit these sophisticated, sensitive creatures for personal promotions.

Take action now: Politely e-mail Katy using the form below and ask her to stop appearing with wild animals.
