Slow, Painful Deaths in New York Schools

This is a glue trap:

Glue Trap

The Pine Bush Central School District in New York is reportedly using these cruel death traps, which cause immense and prolonged suffering for animals, for rodent control!

Victims of these traps (also known as "glue trays" or "glue boards") often rip themselves to pieces in their frantic struggles to escape the sticky mess. Exhausted and terrified, they die of shock, dehydration, asphyxiation, or blood loss—and death can take days.

They're also dangerous to human health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as Health Canada warn against using glue traps because of disease risks caused by the pathogens in the urine and feces of stressed rodents—a risk that students and faculty face whenever schools use these cruel devices.

Please urge the Pine Bush Central School District officials to join the countless schools that have sworn off glue traps!
