Despite receiving overwhelming information from PETA on the cruelty associated with SeaWorld, the airline giant Southwest Airlines has decided to continue its partnership with the marine animal prison. It's time for Southwest to hear from you why promoting SeaWorld doesn't fly.
Since the release of the documentary film 'Blackfish', numerous publications, including the 'Los Angeles Times', have condemned SeaWorld, and many musical acts, including Willie Nelson and Barenaked Ladies, have recently canceled their SeaWorld concerts. The public has also turned on SeaWorld now that its practice of depriving intelligent, social, and long-lived orcas of everything that is natural and important to them has been exposed.
In a recent blog post, Southwest defined its relationship with SeaWorld as one that is "based on travel and bringing families together." But SeaWorld is responsible for tearing orca families apart, and the images of the marine park's heartbreaking actions are now seared into the minds of millions of people who have watched 'Blackfish'.
Please ask Southwest to do the right thing by ending its SeaWorld partnership and halting all SeaWorld promotions effective immediately.
