Pledge to Skip Seafood

Did you know that lobsters, crabs, and other sea animals feel pain? Because lobsters, for example, do not have a centralized nervous system—but instead have ganglia, or masses of nervous tissue, spread throughout their bodies—their deaths can be prolonged. A lobster's nervous system continues to function even after the animal is dismembered.

The U.S. fish industry slaughters more than 6 billion fish each year, and around 2.3 million lobsters and countless crabs will be killed at Linda Bean's Maine Lobster, the slaughterhouse in the video featured above, this year alone. Don't let more animals suffer this fate.

Sign the pledge to start a seafood-free diet, and we'll send you an e-mail with our favorite faux-fish products, our best vegan recipes for seafood lovers, and more tips and information on how to adopt a healthy and humane lobster-, crab-, and fish-free diet!

If you already skip seafood in your diet, you can still help animals even more by sharing this page and asking all your friends to join you in this pledge.
