Animals are Not Ours

Animals are Not Ours

End Donkey Basketball Games!

During "donkey basketball," high school students ride donkeys and the animals are routinely dragged, kicked, hit with balls, and shouted at.

This "game" sends the message to students that it's OK to bully those who are weaker than they are!

Redford Union High School in Metro Detroit has held donkey basketball games in the past and continues to claim that they are a "school tradition." But to donkeys, this is not entertainment—it's their life.

Animals are not ours to use. Politely ask school officials to find a new tradition—in which all participants choose to be involved—and to make this year's donkey basketball game the school's last.
